Meet Dr Lisa Cochrane
Hi, I’m Dr Lisa — an Australian-trained General Practitioner with over 20 years of clinical experience and a special interest in women’s midlife health. I help women make sense of their health concerns and feel more confident in their bodies using a practical, evidence-based approach called lifestyle as medicine.
I studied medicine at the University of Melbourne and completed my specialist GP training in 2010. Since then, I’ve worked across Australia and have called sunny Queensland home for the past ten years.
Over the years, I’ve heard countless women say they’ve felt dismissed, rushed, or confused when it comes to their health. With so much conflicting advice out there — and limited time in a standard appointment — it’s no wonder so many feel overwhelmed. I take a different approach.
I offer longer, more thorough consults that focus on your whole health picture — not just a single symptom. Together, we look at the role your lifestyle, hormones, stress, sleep, and environment play in how you feel. Then we work towards realistic changes that actually fit your life.
From menopause to pelvic health, hormone shifts to weight changes — I support women through the transitions that come with this season of life. I use lifestyle as medicine alongside conventional care to help you feel stronger, clearer, and more in control of your health.
Outside of work, I love spending time in nature with my partner and kids (and our little cavoodle, Ted)  and working on my surfing skills—still a work in progress! I’ve also found that mindfulness meditation has been a game-changer for my well-being and that of my family.
